Caramel Treatment- Homemade Deep Conditioner

caramel hair treatment

The essence of hair is to be moisturized that is why deep conditioning is very important.  I try to do a deep treatment (DT) every week.  Usually 30 to 45 minutes with or without heat will do the trick.  When I want to give my hair a great DT, that is totally vegan and very recession proof I go to my kitchen and make my own.  The Caramel Treatment is very easy to make and involves ingredients you probably already have.  Take a look:

1 over ripe banana or avocado
1.5 tbsp honey
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp jojoba oil
1 tbsp honey
1/4 cup shea butter (melted)
1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 scoop molasses(optional)

From personal use I can say that I like the avocado better than a banana and these measurements are completely arbitrary.  If your hair doesn’t like coconut oil, don’t use it.  Try to use “raw” honey or one that is harder to pour and has to be scooped out with a spoon.  This guarantees that the honey is natural and has less impurities in it.  Whip all the ingredients together and make sure there are no chunks.  Place a plastic cap over your head and try not to nibble!
